Absurdistan Takes Mediawave Prize

The prize was presented with the festival's usual awards at a ceremony on Saturday.

The Hungarian director Attila Gigor's thriller The Inspector took two prizes: one for Best Director and the other for Best Cinematographer. The prize for Best Experimental Film went to Jelena Girlin and Mari-Liis Bassovskaya for The Dress, and the prize for best Animated Film went to Michaela Copikova for About Socks and Love.
 
The festival jury included the American Academy Award-winning cinema editor Alan Heim, the Romanian cinematographer Vivi Dr?gan Vasile and the Hungarian actress Júlia Nyakó.
 
The 19th Mediawave International Film and Music Festival took place in Győr between April 25 and May 2.
