Szörényi died in her home in Los Angeles on December 1, aged 93.
She was laid to rest next to her husband, near the statute of Saint Elisabeth of the House of Árpád, in a private ceremony attended by family members.
The Hungarian community of Los Angeles wishes to dedicate events marking the anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution this year to Szörényi's memory, Hungarian Chief Consul Balázs Bokor said. Szörényi's life carried the message of advocating freedom for Hungarians and taking action by all means necessary, he added.
