The list will be narrowed by the academy?s 2,300 members in the coming weeks and nominations will be announced at the Seville European Film Festival.
Winners will be recognised in 17 categories at the 23rd European Film Awards in Tallinn on December 4.
Adrienn Pál premiered in Cannes where it took the FIPRESCI Prize.
The film is a Hungarian-Dutch-Austrian-French co-production.
