"The themes of her pictures are sometimes vague and sometimes everyday and concrete. Her work could be called subjective documentary or lyrical reporting, but her basic intentions are to deal with the elementary questions of human existence," the association writes about Lenke.
Lenke Szilágyi graduated from the School of Visual and Applied Arts in 1980 and started shooting motion picture stills and theatre performances. Her work has been exhibited in London, Lausanne, Moscow, and Jena. Last summer, the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Stuttgart showed a retrospective of her work.
