The diplomatic and artistic programme, dubbed Art Vienna-Budapest, is intended to strengthen the cultural dialogue between Hungary and Austria, bringing collectors, galleries, exhibition spaces and artists together, said director of Art Market Budapest Attila Ledényi.
The programme was launched with the participation of state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zsolt Németh and director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary Francesca von Habsburg.
Von Habsburg noted hat her father, Hans Heinrich von Thyssen-Bornemisza, had fostered close ties with Hungary as an art collector.
An exhibition of Hungarian artists curated by Austrian gallery owner Gaudens Pedit launched the programme. Among the artists on display in the show at the Hungarian embassy are Ursula Buchart, László Fehér, Nóra Soós and Hans Staudacher.
