The concert, to be held in the Great Hall of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music at 3:30 in the afternoon, will feature the percussion group Amadinda, pop sensation Gábor Presser and actor Pál Mácsai. But the concert will not feature anyone?s greatest hits: in a unique turn, the performers will auction improvisations on sounds requested by the audience. The concert will be recorded, and numbered CDs of the performance, signed by the artists, will be presented to the biggest contributors.
Tickets for the performance are available at the ticket office in the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Prices are from HUF 2,000 to HUF 10,000 per ticket.
The Amadinda Percussion Group was formed in 1984 by four new graduates of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music who aimed to introduce Hungarians to the masterpieces of percussion music and to perform the music of Hungarian contemporary composers in Hungary and abroad. Among the artists Amadinda has cooperated with are John Cage and György Kurtág.
Gábor Presser joined Omega, one of Hungary?s biggest rock bands, in the 60s. He later left to form his own band, Locomotiv GT, which had a lasting impact on Hungarian pop music. Presser has remained a giant on the Hungarian music scene and has found a new audience as a jury member for Hungary?s television talent search show Megastar.
Pál Mácsai is a prize-winning actor who currently directs Budapest?s Örkény István Theatre.
