The Hungarian Media and Information Centre of Unterwart published the first four volumes of a series of children?s stories and poems ? in German, Hungarian and Croatian - last year. It will present three of the books at the Cultural and Youth Centre of Szombathely.
Songs and poems from The Summer Ball of Frogs, Lili the Butterfly and Colours, and Zsiga the Snail and Numbers will be performed by kindergarten children from Szombathely accompanied by the Bogolya folk group from Burgenland.
The books were published to meet demand in multi-lingual kindergartens in Burgenland. They are expected to develop readers? language skills, and it is also hoped they will encourage adults to read more stories to their children and grandchildren.
The books were illustrated by kindergarten teacher Katalin Dowas. The Hungarian translation was by Emese Hubbes.
