The production will be performed six times by the academy, which has had a cooperation agreement with the Liszt Academy in Budapest since 2007.

The conductor for the production will be Ulf Schirmer, a German who graduated in Hamburg after studying with the Hungarian composer György Ligeti. The production?s set designer is Csaba Antal, a teacher at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice who also designed the set for a recent production of Electra in Budapest. The costumes were designed by Angelika Höckner, who was the costume designer for the Hungarian State Opera?s recent productions of Onegin and Fidelio.

In the spring, the Bavarian Theatre Academy students performed American composer Jonathan Larson?s musical Rent, which is an adaptation of La Bohéme.
