Book Festival Moves to Bigger Venue

The festival has outgrown its old venue and signed a contract with the much larger Millenáris Park to host the event in 2008, and possibly in 2009 and 2010 as well. As many as 55,000 visitors are expected to attend the 15th Budapest International Book Festival, slated for April 24-27, 2008.

Practically the entire area of the park, which was converted from an old industrial complex, will be placed at the festival organisers' disposal, allowing them, for the first time, to develop thematic areas.
The Hungarian Association of Publishers and Booksellers also announced that China would be the guest of honour at next year's festival. Previous guests of honour have included Germany, Russia, Spain and Canada.
