The Hungarian embassy has organised the event together with the Hanoi-based publisher Thanh Nien to mark the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Hungary and Vietnam, Laszlo Vizi said.

He said the festival opened a year-long Hungarian cultural season in Vietnam which celebrates the anniversary and serves as a good opportunity to refresh bilateral cultural relations.

He said that promoting Hungarian culture was important also because 3,000-4,000 people in Vietnam, including ministers, bankers, politicians and writers, speak good Hungarian, as they had graduated at universities in Hungary.
