The concert, modelled on the prestigious January 1 event in Vienna's Musikverein hall featured 300 performers in the Papp Laszlo Sports Stadium, Ferenc Salbert said.
It opened with Beethoven's Ode to Joy, followed by a virtual "music round tour" from Budapest to Budapest through Vienna, Venice, Paris, New York, Moscow and Tel Aviv.
Apart from the local audience the event attracted music-lovers from the neighbouring countries, as well as from the United States, Israel and Australia.
