The festival within a festival will take place on 14 stages at 7 venues around the centre of Budapest, including the Örkeny Theatre, Gödör Club, Merlin Theatre and Vörösmarty Square. Almost 200 performances have been organised for the Budapest Fringe, scheduled from morning till late in the evening. The selection of theatre, dance and musical performances includes events for all ages. Admission to many of the performances is free of charge, while the entry fees for others is between HUF 500 and HUF 1,500.
The Budapest Fringe?s best performers ? to be decided by a jury ? will have the opportunity to take part in later events to be put on by the Spring Festival?s organisers.
The festival is modelled after the Edinburgh Fringe, started in 1947, which showcases both amateur and professional productions.
