(MTI) - The first film to be screened will be Alecu Solomon's "Cold Waves", a story about Romanians, Germans, Americans and Frenchmen fighting for the survival or the demise of Radio Free Europe (RFE) during the 1970s and 1980s.
The screening will be preceded by a panel discussion with one-time RFE staff members and historian Ioana Toma.
The programme will also include Peter Strickland's first film entitled "Katalin Varga". The British director, residing in Hungary, shot the vengeance story in Transylvania, Romania.
Hilda Peter from Cluj's Hungarian Theatre, who portrayed the film's main character, received the best performance award at the Brussels Film Festival this summer.
Other films to be screened will include Corneliu Porumboiu's "Police Adjective" about a disappointed policeman and Fanny Ardant's family drama "Ashes and Blood", as well as Stere Gulea's "Weekend with My Mother".
