The festival is returning this year to show films from 53 countries nominated from about 500 entries.
Because of the large number of entries, films will be shown outside of the competition in two sections: Information Panorama for foreign films and Pannonhalom for films from Hungary. Films by the Hungarian directors Péter Bacsó and Ferenc Kállai, who both died recently, will be screened with English subtitles.
While the Vörösmarty cinema will host the main screenings in the fiction, animation and experimental categories, Szabad az Á, at Mikszáth Square, will be the venue for concerts and ?silent? film screenings that require film-goers to wear headsets.
BuSho will feature partner festival premieres from Brest, Brno16 and CologneOFF, and it will host workshops with such interesting titles as LifeAd, GomBuSho and Polifilm. The KODAK student competition and the first Vivaz spot competition are also on the festival programme.
A cinema in Serbia joined the last BuSho festival and one in Oradea, Romania, is partnering with it this year.
