Chekhov Classic Directed by Hungarian Goes to Washington

The production, which drew much praise in Sydney last autumn, stars Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and was adapted by her husband Andrew Upton.
The Daily Telegraph calls Uncle Vanya "a triumph. It respects the poignancy of Chekhov's gloriously spare writing and simultaneously revels in the sometimes farcical, often brutal humor?. Each of the performances are excellent." 
 
"Tamas Ascher's superb production of Uncle Vanya.... is gloriously fresh, funny and poignant," said The Australian.
 
"Across the board the performances are exceptional," wrote The Sydney Morning Herald.
