Visitors will have to pay a token HUF 110 at sites that normally charge admission at the weekend in April.
Hundreds of thousands of people visited monuments overseen by the trust last year, said trust director Kálmán Varga. Many of the visitors, tourists and professionals alike, expressed great interest in ongoing renovations and investments at sites such as the Esterháry castle in Fertőd, the L'Huillier-Couburg castle in Edelény, the Kamalduli hermitage castle in Majk and the rock castle of Sirok, all supported with European Union funding, he added.
Some HUF 8 billion is going toward these projects, and the first results will be visible already in 2010.
