Cinemas Host Human Rights Documentary Festival

English

The patrons of this year's festival are the Hungarian Helsinki Commission and the director Miklós Jancsó.

The films, which include 36 never before seen in Hungary, were selected from 400 nominations from 26 countries. The documentaries examine themes such as poverty, refugees, civil war, political oppression and catastrophes. The screenings will be followed by talks with filmmakers, lawyers, historians, sociologists and human rights activists.

An exhibition of photographs will also be shown as part of the festival.
Please Vote for Me, an award winning film from China, will start the festival.
