The words, from a poem by Hungary's most famous poet Sándor Petőfi, were formed by Tamás Komoróczy and decorated by the Hungarian pop artist Herceg Tova (a.k.a. János Baksa-Soós, the former front man of the band Kex), who has lived in Germany for several decades. The installation is the brainchild of Collegium Hungaricum director János Can Togay.
The installation will remain in place until September 10, twenty years to the day that Hungary opened its borders to East Germans fleeing to the West.
