The Dalai Lama will speak on Buddhism at the Papp László Sport Hall on September 18. On the following day he will hold a training session on happiness, and on the 20th, he will visit Parliament.

The trip, in the planning for five years, has repeatedly been postponed because of the Dalai Lama?s health and uprisings in Tibet.

Haraszti Dolma, a member of the committee organising the visit, said that the Dalai Lama had accepted the invitation to come to Hungary in part because it was made jointly by several religious communities in Hungary.

The visit is being organised by the Tibet Support Association with the support of Hungary?s Karma Kagyüpa Buddhist Community, the Hungarian Buddhist Mission?s Arya Maitreya Mandala Centre, the Dharma Gate Budapest Buddhist University, the Sakya Tashi Choling Buddhist Centre and the Drikungpa Centre.

The trip will be the Dalai Lama?s seventh to Hungary and his only one to Europe this year. He last visited the country in 2000.
