"We would like to show that our own treasures -- from folk art to contemporary art - hold their place on an international scale," festival director János Mucsi said.

The festival will feature troupes from Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Mexico, Italy, Tunisia and Turkey. The performances will be assessed by a jury at the Erzsébet-liget Theatre on June 18.

All of the performances will be free of charge, except for a gala to be held at the open air stage on Margaret Island on June 20. A carnival procession will start from Szent István Square at 3pm on June 20. It will end at Vörösmarty Square.
