The festival will be held at the city's Vig Kamara Theatre on May 2 and 3 and its programme will include performances by university students from Debrecen,Veszprem and Budapest, by two troupes from Oradea in Transylvania, a troupe from Sligo in Ireland and a troupe from the University of London.
A jury will evaluate performances and three cash awards will be granted, including for best director, best actor and best actress.
The organisers of the 9th Annual Festival of Drama in English are the Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen (UD IEAS) and the Hungarian Society for the Study of Drama in English (HUSSDE).
