At the Crisalide Film Festival, Tarr?s films Damnation, Satan Tango and The Werckmeister Harmonies will be shown. Mihály Víg, who has composed many of the soundtracks for Tarr?s films, will be a special guest of the festival.

Damnation, which was made in 1987, but was not shown in France until 2005, earned Tarr a France Culture award in Cannes. In addition to the screening at the Crisalide Film Festival, the film will be shown in Locarno in mid-September and afterward at the ?Literature and Translation? international conference in Bellinzone.

Satan Tango will also be shown at the ?Il Vento del Cinema? festival on Procida Island in late September.

On September 25, Tarr is slated to be awarded a lifetime achievement award at the Split Film Festival in Serbia. Damnation will be shown at the festival.

In the festival?s Focus programme, a film produced by Tarr ? Dr. Putyi Horváth?s A Halál Kilovagolt Perzsiából (Death Rode Out of Persia) ? will also be shown.

The Split Film Festival, which runs from September 25 until October 1, will also feature films by the Hungarian directors András Dési and Gábor Móray as well as a performance of ?Live Film Show? by the Hungarian András Szirtes. Also on the programme will be Szirtes?s short Madarak és Bisztró (Birds and Bistro).
