The play, written by Miklós Gyárfás and directed by Tibor Csizmadia, will be performed every evening at 20:30 on June 16 ? 25.
The musical ?Oliver?, an adaptation of Dickens? famous novel, will be performed against the backdrop of Eger?s historic Lyceum walls at 21:00 on July 7 ? 16 and again on August 24 ? 26. The musical, written in 1960 was a smash hit on Broadway and was later made into an award-winning film.
The Szeged Contemporary Ballet and the National Dance Theatre will perform ?Gershwin: The Rhythm of Blood? at 21:00 on July 28. The production will feature flautist Eszter Horgas and pianist György Vukán.
On July 29, the Szeged Contemporary Ballet will perform again, this time to the music of Mozart in a production called ?Happy Birthday Mr. Mozart?. The production, choreographed by Zoltán Fodor, Zoltán Nagy and Dóra Barta, was performed earlier in the year at Budapest?s Palace of Arts for the start of celebrations to mark the 250th anniversary of Mozart?s birth.
On August 4 ? 5, the Szeged Contemporary Ballet will perform ?New World?, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of Eger. The company has already performed the production before an audience of 4,000 at the Szeged Open-Air Festival.
On August 7, the Symphony Orchestra of Eger, under the baton of Máté Sipos Szabó, will play a programme of compositions by Mozart written in C major ? a key Mozart felt embodied clarity and nobleness ? as a tribute to the composer on the anniversary of his birth.
