Published by Timp Kiadó, the nearly 700-page tome contains 600 photographs.
Anna Baranyi, who heads the Hungarian Academy of Science's Musicology Institute, said the book is the first of its kind and presents entries on more than 400 artists. It also includes information on art historians, reviewers and filmmakers who have dealt with ethnic Hungarian art in Vojvodina.
The encyclopaedia is certain to become a standard for research on the subject, said Baranyi.
