Röder was born in Budapest in 1933, but was raised in Malta. Since 1949 he has resided in the UK.
"Röder's paintings seem to infer fond memories of his childhood spent in Malta in conjunction with a deep understanding of his artistic and social roots in Hungary.
His influences are wide resulting in works which have a clear understanding of Western art history whilst at the same time quietly evoking Eastern and South American art," the gallery says of the artist on its website.
"The beautiful women who are the subject of his work have a timeless quality, they combine a distinct contemporary beauty with classical grace. Both in terms of his exquisite painterly technique and an ability to enliven his figures Röder is possibly one of the finest painters working in Britain today."
His work is frequently reviewed in the local press and has also featured in Arts Review and in The Scotsman.
