The palace of the noble Hungarian family will host the Esterházy String Quartet Festival, ?Concerts for Lovers? and Summer Concerts series next year.
The String Quartet Festival has become a permanent part of the palace?s calendar since it was established in 2009, the 200th anniversary of the death of Franz Joseph Haydn, who spent some of his best years working in the Esterházy court. Next year?s festival will feature the winners of the 2012 London International String Quartet Competition, a contest established by Yehudi Menuhin that takes place every three years.
A new exhibition will open at the palace next year offering a peak at the private lives of three Esterházy princesses: Princess Maria Josepha Hermeneglide von Lichtenstein, Princess Maria Theresia of Thurn and Taxis, and Lady Sarah Frederica, daughter of the Count of Jersey.
Another exhibition showcasing the palace?s weapons will also open in 2012.
