On August 24, the Franz Liszt Regional Choir of Eschweil, Budapest's Matthias Church Choir and Esztergom's Balassa Bálint Mixed Coir will perform Liszt's Esztergom Festival Mass, which was composed especially for the consecration of the church in 1856. Zsuzsanna Domokos, from the Liszt Memorial Museum and Research Centre, will give a short talk before the concert.
On August 25, the tenor Nicholas Clapton and the Liszt University of Musical Arts will present a concert of songs by Liszt, as well as Richard Strauss and the Hungarian composers Zoltán Kodály and Jenö Hubay.
On the following evening, Liszt Academy professor Paul Merrick will perform along with Zsuzsa Esztó, István Lantos and István Gulyás. On the programme will be Ave Maria, Resignazione and Invocation.
On August 27, the Esztergom Symphony Orchestra and the Balassa Bálint Mixed Choir will perform excerpts from Christus, the Hungarian Fantasia and Les Préludes.
István Baróti will play an organ concert on the 28th, and an evening with Gergely Bogányi will follow.
On August 30, Mária Eckhardt and Ágnes Watzatka will offer a concert of sacral works. The programme will wind up in the evening of the 30th with a performance of the Esztergom Mass in the city's famous basilica.
