The Decameron |
Guests in Budapest will start with a performance of Doctor Zhivago directed by Sándor Sárkány at the Thália Theatre. On the following day, the Illyés Gyula Magyar Theatre from the Ukrainian city of Berehove will perform The Decameron - a reworking of an earlier production that was a hit in the capital in 1999.

László Bocsárdi, the director of the 60-year-old Tamási Áron Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe, will bring his company's production of The Miracle to Budapest's Bárka Theatre on Nvoember 19. On the following day, in the Thália theatre, audiences will be able to see a production of The Seagull, directed by Csaba Kiss, from Transylvania.
From Slovakia, the Jókai Theatre will bring a country premiere of the English production My Mother Said I Never Should, directed by Adina Lévay, who was awarded here diploma in London.
The programme will close with a series of performances by the Subotica Folk Theatre from Serbia on December 3-5. The theatre will show Sad Sunday, directed by the company's former head Frigyes Kovács, as well as a Shakespeare adaptation by Péter Telihay and a production of Peter Schaffer's Equus directed by György Hernyák.
