The festival between May 9 and 29 will begin with the call for prayer by a muezzin from the tower of the city hall at exactly 3.15am on Sunday.
That early rise will be followed by nearly three weeks of concerts and dance performances, film shows, public readings and exhibitions in several points of the city. She added that the wide variety of events would range from an exhibition of 17th-19th century Turkish rugs to a concert by Istanbul's underground rock band Replikas.
On May 25 historian Szabolcs Varga will take those interested on an architectural tour of Pecs sites evoking Turkish rule in 16th-17th century Hungary.
