The three-day event will be opened on Thursday by Oscar winning Hungarian director Istvan Szabo, who is FERA's president, together with Education and Culture Minister Istvan Hiller.

Building around the FERA meeting the Budapest Orokmozgo cinema will show one classic and one new film from European countries in a month-long programme.
FERA is the European federation for national associations of television and cinema directors. It was established in Venice in 1980 and now represents 32 associations in 28 European countries.
