Exhibition Shows Hungarian, German Ties Through Life Stories

The twenty-two stories each show the connections between Germany and Hungary in a different way. They also make references to events which have shaped both country?s histories.

The exhibition is being funded in part by the Bipolar Programme for German-Hungarian Cultural Cooperation. Bipolar is a German Federal Cultural Foundation initiative designed to give new impetus to Hungarian-German relations. Bipolar aims to encourage contemporary artists and cultural organisations to join the European network of cultural cooperation through their work and projects.

Assisting the Donauschwäbisches Zentralmuseum with the exhibition are the Museum of European Culture / State Museums of Berlin; the Department for Central and South Europe of the Museum of European Culture, Berlin; The Federal Institute for the History and Culture of German Peoples in Eastern Europe, Oldenburg; the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest; the Petőfi Literary Museum, Budapest; the National Engineering Museum, Budapest; and the Baranya County Museum Department / Janus Pannonius Museum.

The exhibition is open from July 8 at the Donauschwäbisches Zentralmuseum, Schillerstraße 1, Ulm.
