Ever since their rise to fame in the mid 90s, Faithless have been a leading band on the electronic dance music scene and their concert is expected to be a highlight at this year's Hegyalja Festival.
Transglobal Underground is another band that does not allow its listeners to stand still. Their style is a mixture of electronic music with traditional Arabic, classical Indian, Polynesian, Asian and African rhythms. They played a key role in promoting the ethno-techno style and are also credited with discovering the singer Natacha Atlas.
A concert by Basement Jaxx will put another spin on audiences at Hegyalja. The duet formed by Felix Button and Simon Ratcliffe has proven with many of their own compositions as well as remixes that house-funk can be appreciated by all generations.
Roni Size is a defining figure of drum and bass and one of the most prominent breakbeat DJs today. He is sure to offer festival goers a taste of his new album Reprazent, due out later this year.
Among the Hungarian favourites on the Hegyalja programme are Quimby, András Lovasi, 30Y, the Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra, Belga, Bori Péterfy and Lőrinc Barabás.
