Talks are underway on financing for the studio, expected to cost between HUF 1.5bn and HUF 2.0bn, and construction can start as soon as an agreement is reached, said Sas.
The studio will be constructed at the site of a former coal mine and will serve foreign as well as Hungarian productions.
Sas is currently making a sequel to his film Presszó, which opened ten years ago. The director also wants to make a spectacular remake of the Hungarian film classic The Stars of Eger.
