The Hungarian edition is being published by the Műcsarnok art gallery with the support of the National Cultural Fund. The edition?s editor-in-chief is Gábor Rieder.
About two-thirds of the edition?s content will be original and the rest will be Hungarian translations of pieces appearing in the international edition of Flash Art.
The edition seeks to bring contemporary art to a wider audience in Hungary and to bring local art to the international scene with the support of the international edition of Flash Art.
The cover story of the first issue of the Hungarian edition of Flash Art will feature the work of the Hungarian photographer Ádám Magyar, who is based in Berlin, the concept art duo called Lőrinc Borsos, and Gyula Várnai. A piece on the Vinegar Factory of Cluj, in Transylvania, an incubator for artists, is also included.
The first issue takes over pieces from the international edition on the veteran Russian conceptualist Ilja Kabakov and the European painting expert Gerhard Richter.
