Fliegauf Film Project Selected for Cannes Atelier

English

Benedek Fliegauf

Fliegauf's film project Womb will be among 15 promoted in Cannes as part of Atelier, a programme developed by the festival's foundation Cinéfondation.

Womb is a love story that was originally the seed for a novel, Fliegauf said earlier. He said he wanted Cilian Murphy - the Irish star of 28 Days Later, Breakfast on Pluto and The Wind That Shakes the Barley - to play in his next film, and Murphy told a local paper in 2006 that he would welcome a script from Fliegauf.

About 60pc of the projects that are selected for the Atelier programme are eventually made into films.

Among Fliegauf's critically acclaimed films are Milky Way (2007), Dealer (2004) and Forest (2003).
