The Romanian Cultural Institute initiated the event which aims to present the activities of the European National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC) to locals, said Erzsebet Ovari, an official of the Balassi Institute, a centre promoting Hungarian culture.
The Austrian Cultural Forum on Andrassy Avenue will present concerts from 8 pm to midnight and the Goethe Institute in Raday Street will offer public readings, free library membership and a question and answer session with author Richard Wagner from 6 pm.
The Polish Institute in Nagymezo Street will launch half-hourly free express language courses, a dance house and film screenings.
The Italian institute in Brody Sandor Street will present a concert by the Mandolin Duo playing works by the likes of Rossini and Edouardo Di Capue.
The Slovak Institute, jointly with the Portuguese language centre Camoes Institute, will offer film screenings and a folk dance performance in Rakoczi Street.
The Estonian Cultural Institute will show films at Toldi Cinema and the Kecskemet-based Danish Institute will hold joint events with the Romanian Cultural Institute at Izso Street, including a jazz concert by international musicians.
