Béla Tarr

The Man From London will premiere in Paris at La Pagode on September 8. Afterward, it will travel to Lyon and Marseilles. Tarr will attend the screenings.

French film journal Cahiers du Cinema has built up anticipation for the premiere with the publication of a long interview with Tarr and a review of the film by Cyril Neyrat, who said it had raised Tarr's art to new heights. Neyrat also noted similarities between Tarr's films and those of Stanley Kubrick.

The Man From London is a French-German-Hungarian co-production, paid for with support from Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC), Eurimages, Arte France Cinéma, ZDF, Canal +, the Hungarian Motion Picture Foundation and the Hungarian Ministry of Culture. The film is based on a novel by French author Georges Simeon and stars the UK's Tilda Swinton, the Czech Miroslav Krobot and Hungarian actors János Derzsi and István Lénárt.
