Although the festival's programme has not yet been finalised, the organisers will show films in the cities of Szeged, Pécs, Debrecen, Miskolc, Győr and Kecskemét, Szolnok and Eger, as well as in Budapest. As in previous years, the festival will offer filmgoers in Hungary the chance to see the latest French films before their official release in the country.
Among the films on the programme are Caramel, which tells interlocking stories anchored in a beauty parlour in Beirut. The film is directed by and stars Nadine Labaki.
Claude Berri's Hunting and Gathering (Ensemble, c'est tout) is a love story starring Audrey Tautou based on a novel by Anna Gavalda. In the same genre is Shall We Kiss (Un baiser s'il vous plait) by Emmanuel Mouret and starring Virginie Ledoyen.
Francois Ozon's latest film, Angel, was nominated for a Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. The film shows the rise and fall of a young English writer at the beginning of the 20th century. It stars Romola Garai, Lucy Russell and Charlotte Rampling.
Paris, directed by Cédric Klapisch, is about a dancer waiting for a hear transplant who watches the French capital from his balcony. It stars Romain Duris and Juliette Binoche.
