The exhibition, entitled Then, it's a Day Like Any Other Day, features works that have a powerful effect in spite of their relatively small size.

The exchange programme Manso is participating in was launched in 1990. Since its inception some 300 Hungarian artists have worked abroad and 300 foreign artists have come to Budapest.

The Budapest Gallery has signed agreements on the programme with several Western European cities, including Lisbon, Paris, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt and Helsinki. The partner cities offer scholarships and accommodations suitable for work to the visiting artists.

This year, as many as 170 Hungarian artists applied for 15-18 spots in the programme. Unlike many of the programme's Western European partners, the Hungarian organisers have set no age limit for applicants.

The Hungarian photographer Gabriella Csoszó is currently working in Lisbon as part of the programme, and next year the Hungarian painter Sándor Szász will go to the city.

Foreign participants in the programme are expected to offer one of their works created during their stay in Budapest to the city's public collection at the Kiscelli Museum.
