Gandhi's two grandchildren and his great-grandchild will attend the events, which are to mark also the 60th anniversary of Hungary's first diplomatic ties with India.
The programmes will strive to bring Hungary and India closer together, Ranjit Rae said.
Cultural events will include photo exhibitions on Gandhi's life, an Indian village and Buddhism at the Applied Arts Museum, the Centralis Gallery and at hotel Le Meridien, as well as a week-long Indian film festival to start on Saturday at the Orokmozgo cinema.
Indian dancers and chefs will entertain and feed the guests.
