Hungarian films can be seen in all categories and include include Daniel Erdelyi's short film "411-Z", Geza M Toth's animation "Ergo" and Benedek Fliegauf's script "Womb".
One of the most hopeful contenders, Kornel Mundruczo's "Delta" already won the applause of the audience in a full-house screening on Tuesday. The family drama, a free adaptation of Hamlet and Euripides' Electra, is among the 22 titles competing for the Palme d'Or this year.
Welcoming guests - serenaded by folk fiddler Felix Lajko, who starred in Delta - Culture Minister Istvan Hiller noted the strong presence of a new generation of Hungarian filmmakers and said they would receive the ministry's utmost support.
