The creations are the product of a collaboration of art students from nine universities in Hungary and three abroad in the village of Csórompuszta on July 6-13. Altogether 55 students participated at the festival which took place for the second time.
Hello Wood focused this year not only on wood-based architecture, but on graphic art and film as well. The festival?s ?wood? work groups each used about a kilometer of 4X4 centimetre boards and the ?typo? work group created their art on about a kilometre of paper. The groups made a visual record of their work and made a five-minute film of it.
Dorottya Hindy, one of Hello Wood?s organisers, said a five-metre high wooden snail ? the symbol of the Valley of Arts, an arts festival spread over several villages north of Lake Balaton ? was expected to become a centerpiece in nearby Vigántpetend, but problems with the move means visitors will have to view it with the other works created by the festiva participants.
Hello Wood was organised by the MOME Line Design Workshop and the New Direction Group.
