"This is going to be the finest studio on the continent," said Michael Moore, president of Raleigh Studios, which owns or manages 40 stages.
Raleigh Studios is building the studio in partnership with a consortium of Hungarian investors and the Origo Film Group.
The 170,000-square-metre base in District XV, or Rákospalota, will have nine studios, including a 4,100-square-metre "superstage,", a workshop to make film sets and a digital lab. About 2,200 people are expected to staff the studios.
The studios are expected to open in April 2010.
