Hungarian 1956 revolution documentary wins 1st prize in California

The 96-minute film tackles the period from 1945 through 1991 presenting the rivalry between the superpowers at the time. It shows the 1956 revolution as a catalyst for the collapse of communism and records an archive footage of interviews with leading international and Hungarian politicians including Mikhail Gorbachev, Ronald Reagan, Henry Kissinger, as well as former president Arpad Goncz and ex-premier Gyula Horn.

 
Director Klaudia Kovacs made her film together with Oscar-winning Hungarian cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond and fellow award-winning cinematographer Laszlo Kovacs.
 
The film premiered in the United States in November of 2007 and has been invited since then to 16 major international shows.
