There is a large number of artists, musicians, theatre and film professionals and performing artists with Hungarian roots living in California, and the association was set up ?to make good use of this excellent opportunity,? said consul general Balázs Bokor.
Pianist and composer Bálint Sapszon was elected head of the association at the founding meeting. His deputies are the painter Matsik Elizabeth, the head of the local Hungarian folk dance troupe Lívia Varsányi, the photographer Niki Burg, and Tímea Antal, who is setting up a Hungarian-language theatre in Los Angeles.
