Hungarian Animated Feature Draws Big Crowds

The Tragedy of Man, a 160-minute feature that took almost 30 years to make, premiered in Hungary in December.

 
Jankovics preceded his magnum opus with the films John the Valiant (1973), Son of the White Mare (1982) and Song of the Miraculous Hind (2002). He won a Golden Palm at the 1977 Cannes Film Festival for his short Flight.
 
Jankovics was joined at the festival by the Hungarian directors István Szabó and Bence Fliegauf
