SPM wants to take a stake in Duna International and both publishers want to establish a joint venture in China. The publishers will release their first joint book -- about traditional Chinese medicine -- in Hungary in October.

Duna International publishes one million copies of its titles a year. It has long been present on the Romanian market and published its first Serbian language title last year. It is preparing to form partnerships in Croatia, the Czech Republic and Germany too.

SPM has 22 units, including eight book publishers and a television channel. It has annual turnover of 6 billion Chinese yuan.

SPM deputy-CEO He Zumin said the partnership with Duna International would support sales of Chinese intellectual products in Hungary and give it a bridge to other markets in Europe.
