Parts of the romantic comedy, called S.O.S. Love!, have already been shot in Los Angeles.
In addition to Daryl Hannah, Billy Zane, C.J. Thomason and Christine Kelly are in the film.
Tamás Sas, who is also the film?s producer, said getting the money for the film was the most difficult part, as the state of Hungary could not be counted on for any support. Thus the backing for the film was taken from private money and sponsors from Hungary, Russia and the United States, he added.
S.O.S. Love! cannot be seen as the sequel to the Hungarian film S.O.S. Szerelem! (S.O.S. Love!), Sas said. There are different roles in the film, the locations are not the same and the story is not connected to the Hungarian film from 2007, he explained.
The film will be the first romantic comedy to be shown in 3D, Sas said, saying the technology would bring a paradigm change to filmmaking akin to sound or colour.
S.O.S. Love! is about a matchmaking company of the same name. When a Russian ?businessman? asks it to hook up his sister (Christine Kelly) with a young American television series start (C.J. Thomason), at any cost, the staff must work hard to avoid the consequences of failure.
C.J. Thomason said he was very happy to work with the film?s Hungarian crew, adding that he and Sas understood each other with few words. He compared his character in the film to an alien, completely absorbed in his career.
The film is expected top open in cinemas on December 15.
