Under the programme, scholarships will be offered to 14 young Hungarian cultural managers who will participate in a 13-month-long training and internship programme. The scholarships include travel, training and seminar costs, as well as a EUR 1,000 monthly stipend.

"This agreement shows that during a time of international financial crisis, it is worth investing in education, culture and innovation, which means the future," said Hiller. "For Hungary, this crisis means constraints and, at the same time, an opportunity. If Hungary can finally carry out structural changes and successfully develop the trio of education, culture and innovation, it can gain an advantage over other countries by the time the crisis comes to an end," he added.

Joachim Rogall of the Robert Bosch Foundation noted that culture had always been a strong point in the cooperation between Germany and Hungary.
