Hungarian Cultural Institute in Brussels Hosts Concert, Exhibition

The Kecskés Ensemble was founded in 1970 by András L. Kecskés, who studied lyre and guitar under Karl Scheit at the College of Music in Vienna. The ensemble won a prize at an international early music competition in Brugge in 1978.
 
Dengyel studied in Cluj, Romania, in the 1930s and later in Hungary. He came to Brussels in 1948. There he made a living with restoration work and as an illustrator. He established a painting school in the mid-60s which ran for 20 years. His pictures show surrealistic, grotesque and naturalist elements.
 
The institute is helping with a programme of events in Namur, Wallonia, on September 5-10. The series highlights Namur?s Hungarian sister city, Pécs.
